Step inside post-war stories of Sheffield, combining social history, 360° video and Oculus Rift virtual reality technology.
Memories of Now was developed as an intergenerational piece, working with local older residents to retell their personal stories of Sheffield and connect with the younger generation. Sitting at the intersection between theatre, film and technology the experience places the user inside the frame of the story world. The process started by running a series of drama based workshops with Age UK members, focused on storytelling, led by Frantic Assembly workshop facilitator, Sean Hollands. Stories were then gathered, refined and recorded and placed into a bespoke computer game world with 360º video.
